10 Reasons Why We Love the Fall Season

  • 3 min read

2020 Fall Equinox

The 2020 fall equinox begins today, marking the official start of autumn. We may miss the warmer days of summer, but Anna’s Honey is also happy to welcome in the new autumn season. Here are ten reasons we are excited about the fall in 2020.

1. New Beginnings

Many people associate the autumn with the beginning of a new school year. This gives the fall a sense of newness and a fresh start. The quiet makes this season a perfect to reflect and make changes.

2. Temperature is Just Right

On the sliding scale of “too hot” and “too cold” fall finds itself right in the middle. Spending time outdoors is a pleasant experience with proper clothing. Visiting a pumpkin patch, hiking, or jumping into a pile of leaves are all made better from the cool temperature.

3. The Coziest Season

The fall can bring memories of staying indoors wrapped in a soft blanket, sipping on a hot tea. After a long day, these homely, restful periods are special. Find a good book, search for delicious recipes, and get the fireplace ready to enjoy autumn indoors as well as outdoors.

4. The Fall Taste and Smell

Simply reading the word “fall” draws out emotions and feelings. It’s the soft crunching of leaves, the balmy feel of a knit scarf, and the fruity taste of pumpkin spice. Autumn has a unique feel to it. Seeing the fall season come back gives a nostalgic and familiar feeling from the past. Each year, people have an opportunity to make new memories for the future.

5. Exciting Holidays

Halloween and Thanksgiving are two of the biggest and most fun holidays in the calendar year. Halloween is a strange and enthusiastic holiday, with costume parties, trick-or-treating and tempting Halloween candy. Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful, to spend the day with loved ones, and to enjoy a wealth of flavorful food. Both evoke feelings of togetherness and good-natured entertainment and both contribute to the feeling of autumn.

6. Changing Environment

There is beauty in the aesthetic of the fall. Nature’s growth begins to slow and is put on display. The sun shines on landscapes covered in vibrant shades of orange and yellow. No matter the location, the fall season gives a whole new perspective with gorgeous sights.

7. Fall is For Family Time

Spending more time indoors gives families the opportunity to grow closer together. Watch a favorite fall movie, drink a warm apple cider, or carve pumpkins. The fall offers plenty of activities families can do together. The quiet evenings are also perfect times to call relatives living far away to keep in touch.

8. Shorter Days Are A Positive Thing

The shorter, darker days of the fall can take some getting used to but lead to great benefits. It is easier to sleep during the fall, partly due to the colder temperature, but mostly due to the absence of an early sunrise. Avoiding the risk of unwanted early wake-up calls is something to look forward to. The days in autumn can feel more balanced. There is enough sunlight to enjoy the day, but also enough nighttime to relax during the evening.

9. Fall is to be savored

Fall is only just beginning but it can pass by very quickly. After the month of September, the ghoulishly fun October season will roll in, followed by the breezy and calming month of November and finally, the autumn season will end in the middle of December. During this time, it is good to stop and appreciate the small, ephemeral moments autumn can bring.

10. Delicious Fall Recipes

At Anna’s Honey, we celebrate the fall season as deliciously as we can. In a previous blog posts, we have used honey in an orange-spiced honey butter recipe and a recipe for honey pumpkin bread. For an all-natural sweetener to make fall treats even more irresistible, Anna’s Honey comes in four honey varietals. Clover, Wildflower, Blackberry, and Fireweed are all perfect ways to enjoy this fall season. Whether adding a honey stick to a warm tea, spreading creamed honey on breakfast toast, or baking with honey, we hope Anna’s honey can help during this fall season.
